Days 38 and 39

Yesterday was a very long day at the clinic. The kids were all very cranky, and screamed A LOT. To add to that, it was health workers day, so there was only one nurse and two aides on duty. In the afternoon we were able to go outside, but there was still a lot of crying form the babies. Malika didn’t come in the afternoon either, so we had all the mobiles and non-mobiles outside together. The sun felt good though! Today the kids were a little happier, but were still pretty cranky. Jane had brought more goodies to the clinic today, which included hair clips that looked adorable on the girls. We heard that tomorrow morning, Paula will be leaving for Iasi, and that they will be picking up Gabriela on the way (she’s still in Barlad). Sammy and Cristi are already in Iasi, but it doesn’t seem like we will be seeing them again this trip, sadly. In the afternoon we took all the kids outside, and they enjoyed time in the sun. The numbers of aides were back to normal, and Malika was there in the afternoon, so it seemed a lot easier today. One of the most popular toys today was a penguin from Jane that sings and dances. The kids loved it, except Ionela, and Alex even figured out how to work it. We went to the clinic last night for about an hour, and we felt much more useful than some of the previous nights. We got there in time to feed the babies, then we played for a little while, and put them back today. There was a beautiful sunset we could see from the playroom, which we showed to all the babies. We are hoping tonight’s visit will be as nice as last nights!
