The Adventures of Panda Girl and Wonder Boy

Today I was still feeling pretty sick from the virus/cold we got last week from the babies, so I took an easy day. I spent the entire first half the day with Raul the Wonder Boy. He is pretty sick with the virus, and at one point coughed so hard he spit up, but did better after some medicine. I worked a lot with him on sitting using a boppy pillow and a mat, but he still has a long way to go, and needs more strength in his trunk. Then I talked to Raul as an aide and a nurse did his bath and bandages. He screamed a bit less this time, which was great! He wasn't hungry, probably because he was sick, and only ate one bottle during the hours we were there today.

After lunch the girls of the group went with Mihaela into town to the carwash, pharmacy, and farmer's market/pastry shop. Then we headed back to the clinic in time for bottles/food, quickly followed by a visit from the male doctor. He saw all the kids who have been sick. It was a beautiful day, but unfortunately, since the children are sick we are unable to go outside. I spent a bit of time with the preschoolers and other mobile children, and some quality time with Alina the Panda Girl. Mihaela decided to dress her up pretty, and while in the clothes room I found that cute panda hat for Alina. She actually wore it for a long time! Robin also taught her to make pig noises, so she became half pig half panda. Then I went back to Raul, and we spent some time in the hall. This is when I found his love for "jumping". He would bear weight on his legs for 3-5 seconds (with me holding him up) then I would fly him into the air, and he would laugh! He also spent a little time in the walker, which he liked unless I rolled it.

I DID bring the purse, but didn't have it when I found the hat. I will have to bring it another day to go with the hat, and maybe put back on her black/white skirt outfit!

Caroline!! You are doing such amazing work with Raul:) I so wish I was there with you guys, but your pictures are wonderful and it makes it so much easier to be able to see what they are all doing everyday. I hope you feel better soon, and please give everyone extra hugs and kisses for me.
