Caroline, these photos are just darling. I never knew Ema, but she seems like a very special child; I can only imagine how difficult it was for you to hear the news of her passing... Thanks again for sharing your experience with us!

Caroline,
What can be said?
Ema had lots of people who loved her and took good care of her.Very sad for all of us who have been to Tutova, for the aides who work there, and for Dan and Mihaela.

Many thanks for all you've been doing to keep us aware of what's happening at the clinic.

I am so shocked by this news. Ema was a darling, sweet girl who was much loved by all. Thank you, Caroline, for letting us know and for the wonderful pictures you took of Ema on your last trip. She seemed to be smiling so much more these past few weeks. That is how I will remember her!

Much loved for sure. Ema captured the heart of all who had the good fortune of her coming into their lives. I was so looking forward to seeing her sweet smile in April - a smile that I only saw a hint of when I was there in Oct. 2008. The video of her giggling and smiling is comforting and it reinforces to me that the work being done there really does make a difference. Not only in the lives of the children but in the lives of everyone who serves. Yes, dear sweet Ema-Elena,
we will carry your memory and our love for you deep in our hearts.

From Jeanne De Vita, two-time volunteer to Tutova: Caroline, I was there when Ema first arrived at Tutova in April 2008. I can't thank you enough for the information you have provided and the beautiful pictures. I feel blessed to have met her and can't imagine the mood at the clinic right now. You will all be in my fondest thoughts and prayers.

I'm obviously just catching up on your blog and just now saw the sad news about Ema. As they all are, Ema was very special. I remember how getting a smile out of her was not easy. You seem to have gotten many in her last few weeks. As Jane said, that is how I will remember her.
