Day 23

After the last few weeks, it is so different to have so many people volunteering at the clinic. The non-mobile room was really crowded so I sat in the hallway with babies, in the pre-school room in the morning, in the isolation room, and brought little babies into the mobile room one at a time. I spent most of my time today with Ema and Lea Celine. Lea Celine was very unhappy with the fact that she had to keep her foot elevated, that she was wet from her foot dressing, and that her foot was hurting. It was hard to keep her from crying all day, but she like in the morning when I took her into the pre-school room to watch The Little Mermaid. Ema was pretty happy and enjoyed her stretching. We were able to take Marius and Celine out of the isolation room into the playroom, which was nice. We also sorted through shoes from the storage room, there were close to a hundred, and took out ones to put in the closet for now. We even found some tiny sneakers for Mihaela and Alina to wear. It’s almost overwhelming to have so many people there at one time, but it’s really nice to have the extra hands and be able to focus on a couple kids at a time. During lunch we toured the hospital with Dr. Delia. Tonight we went into Barlad to the travel agent (we’re going to Trannsylvania this weekend), and to the grocery store, and to a very hearty dinner at the Alona. We got a party bus complete with lights and loud music on the way back to Tutova!
