Day Twelve (Marius's Birthday)

Today on the way to the clinic we witnessed a fist fight between two young BMW drivers on the main road at the entrance to our path. We watched from a distance for a few minutes, and saw it eventually be broken up by a third man from one of the cars. We heard by way of the hotel waiters that they were not locals, they were foreigners, and they had probably been cutting each other off or something like that (road rage). So after our exciting morning walk we were greeted by a fairly calm atmosphere at the clinic. We were allowed again to bring Celine and Ema out of isolation (we were not allowed last night, but had been during the day). I had the non-mobiles to myself most of the morning while the other volunteer was out and about, so it was wild. Luckily though, Ema did not do her turning purple to get attention trick again. Cindy visited me to help with the babies, as did a few aides (who debated who should be cleaning vs. playing). Later we exchanged more pictures with the aides, Nicoletta (an aide) whipped out a whole album! They love explaining their families, and examining ours. After lunch the amount of babies in our room seemed about half, as many of them were still sleeping. Marius (who’s birthday was today) was taken to the hospital in Barlad for tests, since he’s sick, before going to the cardiologist with Maria in another city on the 16th. Sadly, it doesn’t seem like I will be seeing Maria for more than the two days in the beginning. After putting the babies back in bed around four, we headed back to the hotel to get ready for another dinner out in Barlad. No night shift tonight since we got back late, but we will go over tomorrow night for Cindy and Cathy’s last night. I found out today that my next team (starting on the 21st) has eight people now, but FIVE of them are only for one week, and the other three of us will be there the whole time.
